Position Overview

The Sharing Place Liaison plays a vital, hands-on role in supporting LCFS’s food pantry delivery programs, including Silver Box and Gleaners Home Delivery, as well as daily Sharing Place operations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active, working with people, and making a tangible impact in their community. No two days are the same—you’ll coordinate deliveries, support volunteers, maintain pantry operations, and help ensure families receive food safely and efficiently.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

Within your first 90 days, you will:

  1. Ensure food deliveries are accurate, timely, and efficiently routed
  2. Create a positive, organized experience for volunteers each shift
  3. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized pantry using FIFO standards
  4. Support safe vehicle use and delivery compliance
  5. Contribute reliably to day-to-day Sharing Place operations

Core Responsibilities

Delivery & Logistics Coordination

  1. Receive client orders and pack food boxes accurately

  2. Plan and organize delivery routes for efficiency and timeliness

  3. Coordinate smooth execution of Silver Box and Gleaners deliveries

Volunteer Support & Coordination

  1. Train, guide, and support volunteers during assigned shifts

  2. Foster a welcoming, organized, and respectful volunteer environment

Pantry Operations & Safety

  1. Stock shelves, rotate inventory using FIFO, and monitor food quality

  2. Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace, including storage areas

Vehicle & Compliance Oversight

  1. Support vehicle scheduling and basic upkeep coordination

  2. Ensure volunteer drivers are trained, licensed, and safety-compliant

Team Support

  1. Assist with additional Sharing Place duties as needed during assigned shifts

Required Skills & Capabilities

  1. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently

  2. Clear, friendly communication with volunteers and community members

  3. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active throughout shifts

  4. Basic math, inventory tracking, and record-keeping skills

  5. Valid Indiana Driver’s License and clean driving record

  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow safety procedures

Nice-to-Have Skills

  1. Experience in pantry, warehouse, logistics, or volunteer coordination roles

  2. Experience in nonprofit or community-based environments

  3. Bilingual abilities (Spanish preferred but not required)

Education & Requirements

  1. High school diploma or equivalent

  2. Valid Indiana Driver’s License and proof of insurance

  3. Ability to pass a background check and maintain a drug-free workplace

Schedule & Work Environment

  1. Part-time role offering up to 29 hours per week

  2. Fully on-site position

  3. Evenings and Occasional weekends required
