Help People Move Toward Stable Housing

Lutheran Child and Family Services of Indiana/Kentucky (LCFS) is looking for an organized, detail-oriented Housing Specialist to join our Pando Program.

In this role, you'll help individuals experiencing homelessness navigate the path to stable housing. You'll coordinate referrals, support housing placements and move-ins, maintain accurate records, and work closely with community partners to keep the housing process moving forward.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate housing referrals through the Coordinated Entry System (CES) and review referrals to verify participant eligibility and support the intake process.
• Work closely with property management to coordinate housing applications, inspections, lease signings, move-ins, and other housing-related needs.
• Provide case oversight and supervision, including reviewing participant cases, service plans, progress, and documentation with staff and participating in regular case reviews and case conferencing.
• Monitor staff caseloads and workloads to support effective service delivery and ensure participants receive appropriate and timely services.
• Maintain oversight of accurate and timely participant records in HMIS and ensure required documentation meets HUD, Continuum of Care (CoC), COA, and LCFS standards.
• Monitor program and staff compliance with applicable COA, HUD, CoC, HMIS, and LCFS requirements, and assist with audits, reporting, quality improvement activities, and corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure staff complete required training and demonstrate appropriate competency in key service areas, including homelessness services, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, professional boundaries, and suicide-risk response.
• Participate in case conferencing and collaborate with community partners, housing providers, and other service organizations to support participant needs and housing stability.
• Protect participant confidentiality and ensure records, case documentation, and program information are maintained accurately and in accordance with applicable requirements.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Social Work or a related human services field with at least 2 years of direct service experience; or
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or a related field with at least 4 years of direct service experience.
• Experience with HMIS, housing programs, homelessness services, case management, HUD programs, Continuum of Care (CoC), or Coordinated Entry is preferred.
